Observation Essay [The look of Burnout]

Ironically, I’m enduring a mental decline, so sorry for the paper I’m about to submit. I’ll most likely do a resubmission next week. I’m not lost, just disorganized and irresponsible.

The marginalization of people who practice Voodoo and the benefit of delusion

Introduction:

There had been instances where animal tongues would be included into rituals in order to …

Voodoo rituals as an Art

The leader, a voodoo priest has to make elaborate setups for his rituals. There is an industrialized market for voodoo products such as perfume and other ointments. And then there are organic ingredients whether it be spices, foods, and bones.

  1. delusions through Manifestation as a false promise
  1. The users in desperation for solutions may take unhealthy / immoral practices for voodoo due to a lack of resources.

I’ve been observing the community for 3 days, from 11/10/2025 to 11/13/2025. The leader of the group is Tataw Bruno, a voodoo practitioner, he has a banner displaying Baron Scorpion [what does it mean?]. Unfortunately, it was until the second day that I discovered that the leader could be based in Africa, but there are many people that are American. Maybe, I’ve made a mistake not choosing a community that is focused in a particular region, but this has allowed me to see the variation of views on how voodoo could be practiced. Afterall, I’ve learned that voodoo is an oral tradition, so with the biggest game of telephone, there will be many subgroups.

The bad faithed rituals. For people who can’t let go of their resentment towards others, this could be good therapy. The disillusionment of Magic provides closure. The customer believes that his enemy won’t be able to bother him. But, this doesn’t promote critical thinking. I see voodoo as a tool for moving on, but you’ve learned nothing about how to build or fix relationships. It can boost your confidence in believing in your manifestation, but the manifestation may not come into fruition. The bigger story could be that people rely on these services because of their limited options. After all, I observed a guy who made a request to revive his dead wife. He’s living in a reality where his wife is dead, and he’s looking at voodoo as a means of hope.

“Magick is not a shortcut for taking responsibility for mundane matters…” (as said by a commenter to a guy who said) “I need a spell to rid us of an evil individual trying to destroy my family”

So don’t blame voodoo, blame the lack of resources that bring out mal intent through desperation, leading to the unhealthy ritual practices that gives voodoo a bad image.

The people who are coming here for answers may not have grown up with the resources that provide the critical thinking skills for coping, and in all, embettering yourself throughout time. That’s what voodoo lacks as a tool. But just as any hobby, like playing video games and watching movies, they aren’t intended to promote critical thinking, they’re an escape from the responsibilities of life.

A ritual where a guy Hits a doll resembling his cheating significant other:

A westerner may see the guy as crazy and weird for hitting a doll. There is the manifestation of revenge by inflicting force onto an item that depicts the subject you want to affect. I see it as performance art. Relieving frustration and rage by exerting force. Through these rituals you’re manifesting harm, but you’re never harming another human being in person.

It empowers someone into having control in matters that they may not. It’s not like this man would want to beat up their ex, but they exert their energy by creating a simulation. Like rage rooms and violent videogames. In comparison to the heinous action of property damage inflicted by an ex, this man’s decision is relatively tame, but it also tells a story about human compulsiveness.
